Set up recurring and retainer invoices

Retainer and subscription clients shouldn't need re-invoicing by hand every month. Managello's recurring invoices issue and email themselves on the schedule you set.

How it works

Set up a recurring profile for a client: the template line items, a cadence (weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly), a start date and an optional end date. On each due date Managello generates that period's invoice from the profile. You choose per profile what happens next — either it lands as a draft for you to review, or it auto-issues and auto-emails itself to the client with a real sequential invoice number and your branding.

Generate one early

Need this period's invoice before its scheduled date? Use Generate now on the profile to bill any due occurrences immediately, through the same safe path. The schedule keeps running normally afterward.

It's scheduled invoicing, not auto-charging

One important distinction: this is scheduled invoicing, not off-session card charging. Managello raises (and optionally sends) each invoice — the client still pays each one the usual way (by card through Stripe, or however you've agreed). No client is ever silently charged in the background.

No duplicate periods

Each profile is protected so it can't accidentally issue two invoices for the same billing period. The schedule is idempotent — a retry or an overlapping run won't double-bill a client.

Pausing or changing a retainer

Edit the profile to change amounts or cadence, or pause it when a retainer ends. Invoices already issued are unaffected.
